Financial CounselingWe all could use just a little bit of financial counseling...
While many consumers get into debt because of circumstances beyond their control, such as losing a job, a medical emergency, or the death of a spouse, many other consumers get into debt because they never learned the basics of personal money management. With millions of Americans enrolling in credit counseling programs, and still a million others filing for bankruptcy, it is clear that Americans have poor money management skills. Credit Report ReviewWhy is pulling your credit report important? It is recommended consumers pull their report at least annually to review the accuracy of the information. Studies show that about 70% of consumers who pull their report find some type of error, and these errors could be costing you money! Click here for more information on Credit Report Review
DMP's were designed by your creditors to assist consumers to pay large debts off, rather than declaring bankruptcy. A good candidate for enrollment in a DMP is someone who is financially stressed out - but even then the stress may be reduced with learning some basic budgeting tools. Please note, DMP's are not designed for a consumer with a 750 credit score looking to reduce his or her interest rates. Click here for more information on DFA's Debt Management Program
